Bio
Osaira Muyale is a contemporary artist living and working in Aruba. Studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.Co-Founder and director of a Eterno studio - Gallery and Fundacion Eterno. She has exhibited in Europe, the United States, Latin American ,China, Middle East and the Caribbean. Her work has been included in prestigious exhibitions such as the 6th International Biennial of Havana, Cuba, Biennial de Cuenca, Biennial de Santo Domingo, Arte 99 of Curacao (won the Grand award) and Arco Art Fair Madrid, well known art fair. Has been invited at several workshops around the world. Muyale’ s work is critically acclaimed and received prizes not only from institutions in the region but continues to gather attention from the local, regional and international art critics and acclaimed art connoisseurs. Muyale’s studio is part of her ongoing dedication and promise to interact with the community and her conceptual work is a beacon of light to all those intellectuals and artists that live on the island. Statement
I am investigating my being, ‘self and selflessness’
By listening deep within, without , around and around ..Over time I have began to understand, accept the conceptual process and the cultural anecdotes that lives within the work itself. The symbols that read a life of its own. A visual contemporary work representing a Caribbean life. One’s own blue print and blue space in an island’s cultural evolution.
An encounter with my work confirms that, with courage, honesty and commitment, flying high is always possible.
Concept
A compilation of works going around and around
Working and living in circles, transformation, Confrontation and acceptance, dialogues and anecdotes. Living in the present.
Onto the body of conceptual and abstract perspectives.
It implies an idea of movement, continuity
and symbolizes the cycle of time, the
perpetual motion of everything that moves.
It represents the notion of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the self, the infinite, eternity,
timelessness, all cycle movement that contributes to the heart ,soul, mind ,body.
The ’new’ Collection, interact in several
Multi Media; installations, video work, paintings,
performance, objét trouve , photography, poetry .
It address psychological and emotional vulnerabilities
in a post- modern context.
